Christian Toebe
Project Director

Christian Toebe, Greensulate Project Director

Growing up, Christian pruned his green thumb in his family’s vegetable garden in Malvern, PA, a Philadelphia suburb. He also worked at local plant nurseries, as a handyman for a design firm, and on construction and electrician crews - all of which formed a solid platform for his future work as Project Director at Greensulate.

Christian studied Aeronautical Systems Maintenance Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. After pursuing a career in aviation maintenance management, Christian tapped into his Scandinavian roots - where green roofs have flourished for centuries - and began his career with Greensulate. A committed surfer, one of the many reasons Christian loves green roofs is their ability to keep local water ways and waves a lot cleaner.

Christian was one of the first 300 people in North America to get his GRP (Green Roof Professional) designation from Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, the trade organization for the green roof industry. The third Greensulator to join the company, Christian oversees all installations; he also educates clients and organizations about the myriad benefits of green roof systems.

His favorite green roof plants are Sedum hispanicum and Stachys byzantina (Lamb's ears). Email Christian.

Machias Schoen, Greensulate Project Manager

Raised amidst the mountains, oceans, and rivers of Maine, Machias Schoen has always gravitated towards environmentally-minded pursuits.
